Returning to the blog format
It's been a few years since I've actively written a blog and now feels like the appropriate time to start back up.
Before Greymass, I was an active participant in the Hive (formerly Steem) ecosystem as a developer and contributor. A huge part of the culture and involvement there was blogging, of which I contributed regularly. I’m not the best writer and my grammar is probably weird - but I feel it’s a decent way for me to both assemble my thoughts and communicate.
After founding Greymass and moving into the EOSIO/Antelope ecosystem I stopped personally blogging and instead followed the community into Telegram. Greymass itself maintained a more official blog, but I never felt I could treat it as “my” blog. It was the voice of the team. The topics that we’d write about for the blog had to meet a certain standard of noteworthiness as it relates to something Greymass was doing.
So for years now without my own blog, most of my personal thoughts ended up in various Telegram channels. The problem though is Telegram is a black hole for content. The message scrolls by once participants chat some more, it’s not searchable on the internet, and every message you post ends up mostly lost over time. All those thoughts, the feedback, guides/instructions, and other content I’ve posted there is gone.
So I’m going to attempt a return back to my roots in blogging. Hopefully this will help create better, longer lasting content that’s easier to share. I’ll be posting things here and trying it out… at least for now.
We’ll see where this new blogging journey leads. Feel free to subscribe if you’re interested in following along!
